Estrogen Dominance Creates Weight Gain - Lose Weight by Avoiding Environmental Estrogens and Taking Progesterone Cream

Weight Loss and Migraines

Women that have migraine headaches that vary with the cycle, many times have extra weight around the belly and hips. Despite dieting and exercise, the weight just doesn't seem to come off. Many women also have chocolate cravings and sugar cravings just before their period. This is not due to a lack of will power. The sugar craving and chocolate craving is hormonal. The same Estrogen Dominance that is causing the migraine headaches is also causing the weight gain, sugar craving, and chocolate craving. Women have a chocolate craving because Estrogen Dominance. Too much estrogen leads to a Magnesium Deficiency. Since chocolate is high in magnesium, women will crave it. If you take magnesium supplements that are any good, then this will stop the chocolate craving.

One of the side effects of taking too much synthetic estrogen is insulin resistance. So too much estrogen tells the body to become less sensitive to thyroid hormone. When you become less sensitive to thyroid hormone, it looks like you are hypothyroid. You may feel sluggish or cold. You may have cold limbs. You don't feel like moving and the body stops burning up calories. You gain weight. Again, this is not a lack of will power, this is an endocrine problem.

Decrease in my Anxiety Level and Weight loss

Sept. 9, 2009
Dear Dr. Eckhert,

Thank you so much for the time you spent with me last Saturday providing me with the information I needed to know due to the fact I could not read the printed word in your pamphlet. What I find most interesting is that my anxiety level has dropped so much since I began taking the progesterone.

The next think that I find remarkable is that the I had been losing detail in my only eye which is a 10 degree field. Within the week I began to see some detail on a landmark that I have. I thought naw this can't be possible but it is. My dry eye appears to be dissipating.

According to my cornea specialist dry eye is suppose to be a fact of life as one gets older. My intestines seem to be cleaning themselves out since I began this liquid and bloating is going down. I had been given cyclosporine as an experimental drug to protect two human corneas from rejecting and the side effects have been incredible besides both corneas rejected. I have worked hard on my diet to maintain my sight but the weight gain was insane. Within this week my body appears to be deflating and my hair is silkier. that is strange to me.

I have eliminated the herbs and foods that are recommended and changed our laundry detergent.. I hope and pray that this is the answer that I have been seeking since 2004 to bring my body back to where it was going.

Thanks so much for the dialogue. It was very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Rita M.

Dear Dr. Eckert,

I have been taking progesterone now for two months. I have noticed a remarkable down in my anxiety level, weight loss and the ability to actually get to the bathroom in time due to less frequent incontinence.

I have also listened to your suggestion of how to handle chocolate cravings and went for half of a banana and noticed that this has done the trick I believe this correction only took place because I abandoned all of the herbs that were suggested not to use which you read to me. Before if I went for the orange or had half a banana it really didn't make a difference I wanted the chocolate anyway.

I also noticed that there is a reduction in food intake without me forcing the issue or concentrating on not eating. When my stomach says its full it means it and doesn't want anymore. Because I have been working on correcting and balancing my body all my life and have been giving medication most of my life i.e. steroids it has been a non stop balancing act without real results. The calm that I am now experiencing is enabling me to feel less anxious when I have to meet more challenges which appear to be never ending in my life.. but I do not have the same reactions to stress.

Since I have tried everything in my life to correct my body weight and other problems I am so appreciative especially to have the ability not to be in constant worry.

Thanks so much,

Very truly yours,

Rita M.

Thyroid - What does it do?

Thyroid helps regulate the general metabolism of the body. It is kind of like, the more thyroid you have, the faster you go. The less thyroid you have, the slower you go.

The problem with Estrogen Dominance hypothyroidism is that the lab blood tests for thyroid hormone are normal or low normal. The woman has a migraine headache and is gaining weight. She is losing hair. She feels sluggish. But her lab test is normal. A cook book physician will say to her, "Your normal, see you later." A more astute physician, will give her a little thyroid hormone. The hair will begin to grow back. The fat goes. The patient is happy. Hopefully, I am smarter.

I have also lost about 45 pounds since August and am still losing weight.

I have some questions regarding the Progestelle.

I started taking the Progestelle in August because I had breast surgery last Feb. to remove some calsifications. They did a followup exam in August stating the ones had not returned but I had new ones in the right breast. I explained I didn't want another surgery because I still have burning and itching from the original surgery scar. The scar is about 6 inches across and is reddish purple and has the waffled skin look to it. The surgeon told me that they would monitor it for six months but if the pain and itching still continued, I might have to go on male hormones, which I refused to do.

This is when I did my research on the internet about polycystic ovaries and fibrocystic breast disease, of which I have both and have never been able to conceive a child. I am now 41 and time is really running out for me. I was even on Clomid for awhile and all it did was to make my ovaries blow up like Popeye's arms. My OB/GYN wants to refer me to an infertility clinic in Indianapolis but the insurance won't cover any treatment since my husband works for a catholic hospital and our insurance is through his work. It basically covers the diagnosis. Most of these clinics want the money upfront and we just don't have that kind of money for treatment. I am really thinking about changing my OB/GYN to see if they can prescribe another infertility medication that might work for me.

I just had my followup breast exam last week and during the interim, I have removed all caffeine from my diet and no longer use sunflower seeds as well as using the Progestelle oil. My OB/GYN basically told me a couple of weeks ago that this is a complete waste of money and doesn't do anything (this was before I had my mammogram).

I just got the results of the mammogram yesterday and it is normal. I see my surgeon on Tuesday for the followup. He doesn't know I started this treatment last August and I have no idea what his reaction will be to it. The only thing I know is that there were calsifications in there last August requiring extra pictures and now I am clear. The only thing I have done differently is use the Progestelle and cut the caffeine and sunflower seeds. Is this a common result for the Progestelle and does it help with infertility?

I have also lost about 45 pounds since August and am still losing weight. The doctor had prescribed some diet pills for me but I don't like the side effects (they make you mean) and are addictive so I only take them once in a while (one a week at the most). Does the Progestelle cause weight loss of this magnitude as well?

Editor's note: Yes, progesterone can have dramatic effects on weight loss if xenoestrogens are cut out. Yes, progesterone may be used to promote fertility and prevent miscarriage.

Sensitivity to thyroid hormone is too low

I reason that too much estrogen from all the chemicals or herbs on the skin is causing a low sensitivity to thyroid hormone. The thyroid hormone blood tests are normal, but the patient is unhappy. She is less sensitive to her own thyroid. The solution is to avoid environmental estrogens and take progesterone cream.

The usual scenario is a woman that is just past the age of 35 or early 40's. She begins to develop fat on the belly and the hips. She diets. She exercises. However, the fat just keeps adding up. Nothing she does seems to help. There is also the sugar cravings that she tries to battle, but can't seem to win. Hair is thinning and falling out. She notices more hair on her hair brush. There is more hair on her pillow in the morning. She notices hair under her bath towel beginning to accumulate. No amount of will power or conventional wisdom seems to help.

What is happening?

After the age of 35, most of her cycles are anovulatory. What is an anovulatory cycle?

The normal menstrual cycle is when the follicle comes up on the ovary. The follicle is like a giant pimple. The follicle produces estradiol. The follicle comes up and pops out an egg. The used follicle is now called the corpus luteum. The corpus luteum produces progesterone. The progesterone balances out the estrogen.

After the age of 35, most but not all cycles are anovulatory. In an anovulatory cycle, the follicle comes up. The egg does not pop out. The follicle just goes back down. There is no corpus luteum. No progesterone is produced. There is no progesterone to balance out the estradiol. And the woman is estrogen dominant. Fat grows on the belly. Hair falls out. There is decreased sensitivity to thyroid hormone.

Sometimes I will have a woman that has one good month, then one bad month. What is going on here? In these women, one ovary is firing and the other ovary is not. The ovaries alternate. One month, the right ovary fires. The next month, the left ovary tries to fire. In these women, one ovary is popping out an egg, and the next month, the opposite ovary is not ovulating. This is why the woman has one "good" month (progesterone is produced with ovulation), and the next month is one "bad" month (no progesterone is produced, no ovulation). The result is that one month, there is progesterone to balance out too much estrogen. The next month, there is no progesterone to balance out too much estrogen.

Oh, my weight, two months ago was 145 pounds and now I am 130 pounds

I have to go to work but wanted to send a quick email to tell you what a difference this has made in my life.

The first month I had to stop taking and eliminate some more products from my life. The second month though has been going great! I only drink water and some juices now and have purchased both olive oil soap from Elysian Dream and the laundry detergent from Nature Clean....love it! I am having somewhat tender breasts now (this week) and think that it may be due to the oncoming menstrual cycle. Anyway....the other differences I have experienced are incredible. My mood is so much better.....so, even keel and feeling great! Also I have lost 15 pounds in two (2) months without even really trying (this was not something intentional). I still eat the same amount...only now I eat better. The extra fat around my waste line is leaving and almost gone. I am 39 years old and have struggled with monthly issues and breast pain for quite some time. This year the breast pain was becoming extremely severe and my doctor didn't really have any answers. Also a couple lumps were found on my mammogram (diagnosed as cysts). I will write more later to you about this but must leave for work now. Oh, my weight, two months ago was 145 pounds and now I am 130 pounds (had to purchase new clothes). I am getting my body back and my skin has cleared up and my hair feels great (It seemed as though my hair kept thinning and now it has stopped in that I don't seem to have as much falling out when I run my fingers through it). Why don't more people know about this! I have begun telling everyone I know, that will listen.......

Thank you for having your website and sharing this news,

Tracy

Where is this extra estrogen coming from?

The extra estrogen is coming from the environment. These are called Environmental Estrogens. They are chemicals that act like estrogen, but they are not classically estrogen. The excess estrogen is also coming from toiletries and cosmetics that contain herbs that act like estrogen. For instance, lavender is an herb that causes gynecomastia or enlarged breasts in men. Lavender will act like an estrogen in your body. Lavender will make your weight gain worse and your hair fall out more.

Coffee not only contains xanthines that act like estrogen. Coffee also contains caffeine. Caffeine keeps the liver busy. This may slow down excretion of estradiol. The end result is that several cups of coffee will increase your estradiol by as much as 70%.

So the weight gain is due to you becoming less sensitive to thyroid hormone. You are becoming less sensitive to thyroid hormone because of too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. You have too much estrogen because you are putting on chemicals and herbs that "pretend to be" estrogen. You may be drinking coffee. Coffee elevates your estradiol. After the age of 35, most cycles but not all cycles, you are producing no progesterone.

What is the solution?

Get rid of the estrogen mimicking chemicals on your skin. Do not use estrogen mimicking herbs on the skin. Stop drinking coffee. Take 20-60 mg/day of progesterone cream on the skin to balance out the one sided production of estradiol.

What is the usual response to this? Women that follow this regime most of the time, but not all of the time lose weight without dieting or exercise.

Go to this website and get progesterone cream.
