If the woman has too many chemicals on her skin that are xenoestrogens, then progesterone may make her temporarily worse for several days. If she stops the progesterone, then after several days, she will revert back to her normal miserable self. The reason why she get worse with progesterone is that chronic estrogen intake will cause the body to become less sensitive to estrogen. The technical term for this decreased sensitivity is down regulation. When the woman has a high level of chronic estrogen intake, she becomes less sensitive to estrogen. When she takes progesterone,
all of a sudden, her sensitivity to estrogen goes back up to normal, and it feels like she is getting even more estrogen.
When this happens she feels even more lousy, and blames the damn progesterone. The solution is to get rid of
all xenoestrogens, and wait until they wash out of the body. It may take about 1-3 months for the xenoestrogens
to wash out of the body, then try to take the progesterone again.
